Vitamins are natural substances that the body needs to stay healthy and work properly. There are 13 vitamins: The vitamins A, D, E, K, which are fat-soluble, and Vitamin C and the family of B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, B6, B12, and folate), which are water-soluble. When you have a varied and balanced diet, most people should get all vitamins they need from their food, but some may need to take supplements.
