Retinoids

Topical Retinoids are medications that are sometimes prescribed for acne. They work by exfoliating the skin (removing dead skin cells from the surface). Retinoids can cause skin irritations and stinging. When using retinoids, it’s very important to avoid excessive exposure to sun light and UV, and apply plenty of sunscreen before sun exposure. Ask your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare provider for more information about retinoids.
