Ovarian drilling is a surgical procedure in which a minimally invasive approach called laparoscopy is used. This technique uses heat or laser to destroy tissue in the ovaries that produces androgens, which could lower the levels of testosterone and LH. It may be a treatment options for women with PCOS who are experiencing fertility problems that don’t respond to medication. There are risk related to the surgery itself, but also risks to fertility.
