Cardiovascular Diseases

Cardiovascular diseases (also called CVDs) are conditions that affect the heart or blood vessels of the body. There are many types of cardiovascular disease, such as coronary heart disease, strokes and transient ischaemic attack, peripheral arterial disease, and aortic disease. There are a lot of risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as unhealthy diet, high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol levels, diabetes, inactivity, overweight or obesity, family history or ethnic background.
