Alopecia

Alopecia means hair loss. Hair loss can be inherited, or present itself due to a condition such as PCOS. It can also be associated with medications or stressful events, or can be caused by a disease such as alopecia areata, where the body starts attacking its hair follicles, leading to bald patches on the scalp. Hair loss can be temporary or permanent, depending on the underlying condition.
