Acne

Acne is characterized by spots on the skin, mainly consisting of blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts. It appears most commonly on the face, but can also affect the chest area and back. Acne can be a sign of androgen excess (levels of androgens/male hormones that are too high), which is often the case in PCOS.
